I am proud of Lou Piniella. He was very positive in his press conference as he was announced as the new manager of the Chicago Cubs. He said, and I quote,

Miami Hurricanes Win

Written by | Visited 67 times, 1 so far today |

By now everyone and their sister has heard about the brawl that took place following the Miami-Florida International game. The Universityof Miami was absolutely embarrassed by this act, and this is saying something. This is the same school at which Luther Cambell, of 2 Live Crew fame, paid players in the late 80

Keanu Reeves would b

This rant will be short and sweet but I had to write about the garbage that is going on in the ALCS. Rupert Murdock is a liar, flat out, and I am exposing the man. Jason Goddamn Grilli is throwing 98 mph in this series. (Maybe there are a few great Italian athletes) Wilfredo Ledezma is throwing 98 mph. Nate Robertson is throwing 96 mph. I have not seen Ledezma or Grilli throw over 92 or 93 the entire season, and now we are led to believe that they step up their game 6 mph in the post-season. Joel Zumaya came from the bullpen on Tuesday and threw two straight 103 mph fastballs before FOX just stopped showing a speed. This is most likely because he was registering 107 on the gun and the network did not want to be embarrassed for showing a speed that was obviously not true. This is a disgusting state of affairs. There hasn’t been this much artificially enhanced speed in one place since Tim Montgomery and Marian Jones started dating (Rimshot). Ben Johnson is ashamed at what FOX is doing. FOX accidentally clocked Pudge throwing back to the pitcher at 109 mph.

I also thought it was funny how quickly Kenny Rogers goes from jerk-off cameraman accoster to amiable professor of pitching, schooling the Tigers young staff.

By the way, the hottest moment of the series was Dave Drombrowski excitedly dry-humping the 2 men in his private booth after the win.

Michelle Wie has never won a professional tournament. She has not won any tournaments against women on the LPGA tour nor has she won a tournament against men on the PGA tour. This is a streak that will most likely continue as currently sits 8 shots back at the Sony WC going into the weekend. Wie has made one cut on a men

A Movement to Recall Tom Osborne

Written by | Visited 61 times, 1 so far today |

Last week I wrote an Angry Thought about Mike Tyson’s latest bit of hijinx. I stated that he should fight Maurice Clarett in a boxing match with the winner to be crowned “Most Colossal Failure.” I failed to mention that it should be a WWF style Hell-in-the-Cell, triple threat match involving everyone’s favorite Cornhusker, Lawrence Phillips. Lawrence Phillips was a very funny man in his day. Whether he was slapping around or sexually assaulting women, he was always good for a laugh. How about the situation that ol’ Tom Osborne was put in when Phillips was gallivanting around campus committing crimes? Phillips was charged with assault when he pulled his ex-girlfriend down the stairs by her hair following an argument. (For the entire, and potentially true story, go to wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lawrence_Phillips) Osborne had a real chance to strike one up for morality, to suspend Phillips and show his team that an act like the one Phillips committed cannot go unpunished. Osborne could have made a statement that even star players will be held accountable. He could have set an example for the rest of college football and sports in general. But he didn’t. Osborne could not kick Phillips off the team because he was too good a player. He did, however, suspend Phillips for one game. He was given a one game suspension for dragging a woman by her hair down a staircase. Sounds fair to me. Three more cheers for college athletics! I was sure this situation wouldn’t further harm him when he left Nebraska but of course, it did. Congratulations to Tom Osborne as well. Now, not only are you a clown for stealing a portion of the National Championship in 1997, you are also a bad person for never making Phillips accountable and leading to this…

Lawrence Phillips is facing 20 years in prison for striking a group of teenagers with his car following a touch football game. I am not angered so much by this previous sentence as I am angered by the fact that he lost the touch football game. This guy was almost a Heisman trophy winner and he loses to some 15 year olds in a touch football game? Phillips struck three young men, a 14, 15, and 19 year old following an argument over the football game. This is a messed up dude. After Phillips left Nebraska, he was drafted by the St. Louis Rams. He quickly wore out his welcome there when he was charged with assault after hitting a woman in a nightclub. This woman-beating stuff is really starting to sound like a trend. I still blame Tom Osborne, and to think he was voted to the US House of Representatives. I would love to sit in the House every time he made a statement on crime or punishment of crime, and then just stand up and yell “Lawrence Phillips” at him in the middle of his speech. I think it would really take him off his game. In my mind he starts crying and flailing his arms and runs out of the House. Stupid Tom Osborne, a Bill Callahan you are not.

Making Dumb People A

Written by | Visited 76 times, 2 so far today |

I decided this week that most baseball fans are very, very dumb. This is a sect of people that probably should not be allowed to reproduce for the good of the human race as well as my future sanity because I am sure their kids will be at least as dumb as they are. As a Detroit fan I am obviously very happy about the Tigers
