Congrats to the old boy. He worked hard for 8 years to earn about 50 gold medals and its time for him to relax a bit. I’m sure media members and every one out there with a soap box will make a huge deal about Michael smoking weed, and then those same people will go to dinner with their wives, drink two bottles of Pinot Grigio and get drunk as hell. this story is the biggest B.S story i have ever heard if he was having a shot or a beer none of this attention would be put off on him.this country need to take there head out of there collected asses and smell the coffe. marijuauna is not a drug, coke and heiroin or the american pharmacies. what phelps is doing what normal hardworking americans do to relax. whether it be drinking a beer or hitting the bong, there is no medical side effect of marijuana believe it or not america’s precious alcohol and tobacco selling has more of an affect on people health and there judgment then pot. all i am say is that its bullshit people are scrutinizing him for hitting the bong grow up and learn MARIJUANA IS NOT A DRUG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

completely agree Mario and tim, however, I have heard a decent amount of people agreeing with your point about how its not a huge deal. I’m thinking that people, besides the obvious douchebags, might be easing up on this guy a bit. That being said, that sheriff in SC is looking to press charges against Phelps, so maybe we aren’t as enlightened as I we hope. I hope they find a dead hooker in that clown’s car…sweet justice.
I think that this whole thing with Michael is b.s. He has a right to do what he wants…after all he did make the United States look damn good during the olympics. There are so many athletes in the U.S. that take harsher drugs such as steriods and get fucked up on alcohol and yet they are still praised by the media and everyone else. It’s not like Michael is 50 years old he’s still a kid and I think he is entitled to live the college life too. Come on…don’t tell me you never hit a bong while in college!
