Dida vs. Celtic fan from last season’s Champions League was hilariously bad.
The one thing I don’t understand is why everyone only talks about how soccer players dive. Basketball players do it all the time, just watch duke and the spurs. I personally have played soccer, and while most of this are terrible dives, there were a few where they either really did get hit, or they got hit and then they stumbled. In the Gerrard one he clearly gets hit in the shins. When you’re sprinting down the field and then you get hit, even if it isn’t all that hard you’re must likely going to fall.
Hey Schackdaddy, nobody is saying the soccer players never get touched. The point is they act like they’re dying with the smallest nudge. Watch a football game. There’s a little more contact and not always to the parts with pads. People get nailed in the legs all the time. They walk back to the huddle and start the next play. In lacrosse, you get hit with a stick in the shins a lot. Nobody cries about it and flops around like a hooked fish. They keep playing and try to score honestly. I don’t think it’s the players fault all the time either. The sport rewards it (like the PK in #8). And that’s what people are always talking about.

I’m 43 and have played continuously since I was 6 and the way professional players take flops like this pisses me off to no end. I absolutely despise this kind of crap. I also coach younger kids (U10) and if one of my kids did that crap, they’re coming out immediately!!!
