I’m a Packers fan but I’ll be the first to admit most Packers fans are idiots. Favre left everything on the field each and every game for the Packers, and only had one losing season. It was the Packers who didn’t want Favre back (Anyone remember that?), so that means Favre can play anywhere he wants. I cheered for the Jets last year and will cheer for the Vikings this year. Rodgers might be a great QB someday but he is no Favre. Wake up Green Bay. You better give Favre a 10 minute standing ovation when he gets to Lambeau in a few weeks.

Favre was asked back repeatedly and up until end of April 2009 and didn’t commit – if you run a business, what are you supposed to do? He wanted out, he got it, now let’s see what he gets. He is not what he presented himself as all the years with Packers and remains just like most other stars, a selfish ba$turd.

I am and will always be a Brett Favre fan. He loves the game thats why he plays. You all seem to forget what he has done for the teams that he plays for. Greenbay especially, he gave them years of commitment and drive. Thats the problem with North American Football fans, be your #1 fan for years and then backstabb you in seconds.

The problem with all of you diehard Brett fans is that you haven’t the faintest of what it means to be a team player. Football is a TEAM sport and Brett has proven time and time again that he is in it for himself. Period. I don’t care how great a player you are (throwing for the most interceptions in his career for any quarterback, for example)…for someone to think he is above training, above sweating it out with fellow teammates and working hard pre-season, so above everyone else that he can just parachute in at any time and be considered the hero of the day…that spells anything but team player. It spells God Complex. Oh, and get your facts straight. Comparing Rodgers and Favre statistics after their first 22 games with the Packers, Rodgers has thrown more touchdown passes, fewer interceptions, has a higher completion percentage, and thrown for more yards than Favre. In 2008, Rodgers became only the 2nd QB in NFL history to throw for over 4,000 yards in his first season as a starter. The only other QB to do that was Kurt Warner. It’s no question that the Packers offensive line has needed major work…but don’t lay it all at Rodgers feet. He’s doing an amazing job for the Pack. Yes, Favre gave us 16 years. Were they all amazing? NO. In fact the last 10 years were pretty average. Check Favre’s statistics during this time period, especially in the post-season. But he was a Packer and we stood by him. How could we be loyal to him now? Why would we stand beside a QB who plays for our number one rival, The Vikings? That is insane. We can cheer him when he enters the Hall of Fame as a Packer, but there is no reason to cheer him on when he is a QB that plays for a rival team. All you people who are talking smack about Packer fans don’t know the first thing about being a true fan. A true fan cheers for the TEAM…not the PLAYER!

I agree, Favre gave us 16 years of great seasons. We owe him respect for that. Does it suck that he now plays for the Vikings – of course. it is hard to watch him in that damn puple color. Is it “all” his fault? – No. Everyone seems to forget Ted Thompson’s part in this fiasco. Who cares if he wanted to come back at the last minute several times… it was Favre, let him. Look at how many other sports greats couldn’t decide if they wanted to stay retired or not… he shouldn’t be condemned for being indecisive. The Packers management tried to pay him off to stay retired… then when he said it isn’t about the money they changed their minds and said, Ok we welcome you back then. I would have said fuck you too.
