History Of Tim Tebow Crying On/Off A Football Field

Written by T | Visited 15974 times, 3 so far today

Oh, believe me, I’ve been waiting for this moment all year.

Have been waiting to see Tim Tebow crying on the sidelines as he deals with defeat and God finally cannot muster a win over a superior team. Florida was a fraud from the beginning and never played a decent team along the way.

So, in Angry T style, we compiled the “History of Tim Tebow Crying On/Off A Football Field.”

Florida-LSU, October 2007

Timmy loses for the second consecutive week and is captured wailing as he exits Death Valley. The Gators would lose to Georgia two weeks later and finish the year with a loss to Michigan in the Capital One Bowl.

Florida-Georgia, Oct. 2007

Two public bawlings in a single month! Two weeks after the LSU debacle, Superman whimpers on the sidelines after Georgia puts up 42 on the Gators.

Florida vs. Ole Miss: Sept. 27, 2008

After a devastating September loss to the Rebels, Tebow takes the podium to give a teary-eyed speech that becomes instant UF folklore and even gets its own plaque on the football stadium.

Tebow High School Recruitment Tears: Date Unknown

This story goes back to 2006 when Urban Meyer told this tale to the Gator Club of Jacksonville.

The day of Tebow’s announcement on ESPN, Meyer spoke to Mr. Tebow via text message and coach Howard at Nease trying to find out what was going on. They said that he was still undecided.

Not being able to take it anymore, Meyer decided to go home.

On his way there, he was stuck in traffic when Tebow called him crying.

When Meyer finally got to say something to him 7 or 8 seconds into the call, Tebow told him that he had made a decision when BOOM, the phone went dead.

Meyer figured he’d lost Superman to another school.

Instead of sitting there and watching the bad news he decided to go out and play catch with his son and then three minutes later his wife says we’re number-one, we got Tim Tebow.

Tebow Chooses Florida: Dec. 14, 2005

The day Tim had to break someones heart, there were tears.

Neither 12 hours with Crimson Tide coach Mike Shula in his home Monday, nor a few lakeside hours alone with his labrador, Otis, on Tuesday were enough for the Nease High star quarterback to finalize his college choice.

But in the final minutes before the cameras turned on, Tebow phoned Shula with the runner-up call — a call that brought the senior to tears — and walked to the microphone with the news: Florida.

Florida vs. Alabama: Dec. 5, 2009

Last night, as if feeling the emotion of his career being over and a political future being born, Tebow breaks down on the Florida sidelines. CBS cameras, knowing the dam was about to burst, were there as the waterworks erupted in the guy who our grandkids will know about like a Jim Thorpe to our generation.

Maybe a town will rename itself Tebow. (Jim Thorpe has that honor. Step up now, Florida ‘burgs.)
