Written by T | Visited 21681 times, 7 so far today

That would be Johnny Weir (USA), the guy Scott Hamilton will be fawning over.

The world is now under four weeks away from the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, which means NBC will parade a never-ending stream of photogenic Americans in front of your face.

Lindsey Vonn is one of those American faces that will be shown from the Today Show to Jay Leno’s Tonight Show. Ms. Vonn is very deserving of the attention based on her world class downhill skiing skills and her beauty, which is obviously a hit with advertisers.

But there are many other faces at the Olympics that will be forgotten. Not by us.

This is our “14 Scariest Athletes Of The 2010 Olympic Games” post to show the world that all of your great athletes don’t have to look like Lindsey.

Olga Medvedtseva – Russian Federation – Biathlon

Kwame Nkrumah-Acheampong – Ghana – Skiing

Lauri Asikainen – Finland – Nordic Combined (that is a guy!)

Mario Stecher – Austria – Nordic Combined

Tatjana Hufner – Germany – Luge

Iya Gavrilova – Russia – Ice Hockey

Dimitry Ipatov – Russia – Ski Jumping

Jorien ter Mors – Netherlands – Short Track

John Shuster – USA – Curling (possibly the only competitor in the 2010 Winter Olympics with a double chin!)

Natalia Yakushenko – Ukraine – Luge (our subject, far left, will turn 38 in March!)

Scott Niedermayer – Canada – Hockey (because his beard is gray and he’s old)

Claudia Schramm – Germany – Bobsled (is a German soldier in her spare time)

Adam Malysz – Poland – Ski Jumping
