God Wants A Do-Over on Alex Legion

Written by | Visited 314 times, 6 so far today

Apparently, even God swings and misses sometimes.  Alex Legion, a prized basketball recruit out of Detroit, and son of a prophet, is now a former member of the University of Kentucky basketball team.  You may remember, and if you are a Michigan fan I am sure you do, that Legion de-committed from U of M to sign with Kentucky.  You may also remember that God, through his mother Annette,  steered Alex (Kentucky.com) away from those heathen Wolverines into the arms of Billy Gillespie:

I had no clue Kentucky was a basketball school. No clue," Annette Legion said. "But God knew."
When asked about God’s interest in her son, she quietly, almost as an aside, made a startling claim.
"Me being a prophet, he has truly ordered my son’s steps," she said matter-of-factly

I am pretty sure God phoned Legion’s mother and told her he would like a do-over. Very uncharacteristic for the Big Guy. His only other known do-over request was when he had to end John Rocker’s baseball career because he was being a dick to everyone.

There is another possible scenario, although I am not sure Kentucky fans would be too happy with this conclusion.  Billy Gillespie is the Anti-Christ.  If this sentence from the article about his transfer doesn’t confirm my claim, I don’t know what would:

According to one source, the move primarily concerned Gillispie — and wasn’t about playing time.
"He was told he’d get his release later this week," the source said. "It wasn’t about his playing time at all.”

If it wasn’t about playing time and all about Gillespie, Billy is either the Anti-Christ or a coach that is unwilling to deal with a player whose family think’s he is an instrument of the Large Guy Upstairs. I’ll let you decide that one.
