My hot chick radar must be way off, because this story managed to sneak right past me. If not for the vigilance of reader Eric Blankenship, I very well may have missed the NBA’s Hottest Dance Team Tournament. Okay, so they aren’t they aren’t calling it exactly that, but they probably should.
A couple of the first round match-ups have already been decided and I am happy to report that one of my favorites, The 76ers Dancers have advanced. I know I will be voting for the 76ers team, which includes the lovely Sarah (below), in the upcoming rounds, and I suggest you do the same.
I have handicapped the rest of the first round below, take a look, and be sure to call me an idiot in the comments if need be.

The Cavalier Dancers are often overshadowed by the on court accomplishments of LeBron James. Unfortunately, they are overshadowed again in his matchup, by Lacey.

Spurs vs. Kings
Winner: Kings’ Dancers
Although the Spurs’ Dancers’ chaps are tempting, I’ll take the Kings to get out of the first round. They will have to show me a bit more if they want to go any farther though.
Pistons vs. Hawks.
Winner: Hawks’ Dancers
It pains me to do this, because the Pistons are my hometown team, but I am going with the Hawks. Sorry Mr. Davidson.

Winner: Sonics
No long drawn out explanation on this one, the Sonics simply have more talent. I have to assume that Grizzlies owner is shipping out dance team talent to create cap room in the same way he is shipping out his NBA talent.
Bobcats vs. Pacers
Winner: Bobcat’s Dancers
Again, the Bobcats just have more talent. Not stocking the dance team with talent is almost as inexcusable as that Al Harrington and Stephen Jackson for Troy Murphy and Mike Dunleavy deal.

Celtics vs. Raptors

The Celtics have about 30 people on their team and they are all hot, so by virtue of the total volume of hotness on the team, they win.
The Heat (the Favorite) and the Rockets both got byes into the second round. Don’t worry, we will be back next week with the second round. We will also check back on our picks and see how accurate we were.
