Sweet 16 Haikus

Written by admin | Visited 196 times, 1 so far today

As spring nears, my heart gravitates towards two things: The NCAA Tournament and haiku.  So much can be said in those 17 syllables that it gives me a chance to delve into the depths of my soul.  I will now combine my two loves and give you a haiku for each of the Sweet 16 games:

North Carolina vs. Washington St.:

Tar Heels athletic

Low is only cat I know

Tyler, rich man’s Madsen

Louisville vs. Tennessee:

Two coaches, huge ego

Padgett, poor man’s Cardinal

Hardwood Border war

Kansas vs. Villanova

Midwest meets East Coast

Jay Wright, way too much  hair gel

Self, comb-over wins

Wisconsin vs. Davidson

Curry looks 12 years old

Can’t drink beer, drills 3’s instead

Souja Boy moves on

Memphis vs. Michigan State

Izzo wants title

Coach Cal wants frosh Rose to Stay

Rose loves money, coed tail

Stanford vs. Texas

Two Tall Latinos

No K.  Durant, no problem

Lopez bros’, creepy

UCLA vs. Western Kentucky

Hilltoppers great story

Love outlet pass decides game

John Wooden huge ears

Xavier vs. West Virginia

Lavender very short

Huggins throws cash at recruits

Sanctions, Xavier wins

More to come in the Elite 8.

 The Angry T
