You Could Win a Chance to Sing “Take Me Out To the Ballgame,” at the All-Star Game…but I Would Rather Carl Lewis Do It

Major League Baseball wants you to sing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game,” at the All-Star game.  All you have to do is make a video of yourself singing everyone’s favorite seventh inning stretch tune and you could win a trip to the All-Star game.

Personally, I don’t want you to sing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.” I think that there are much better candidates than you to butcher the song.  The people below have a track record of ruining timeless songs at sporting events and therefore their resume is a bit better than yours.  So, just to make sure that you don’t win, I have submitted these 10 videos to the MLB website.  Hopefully one of these troubadours ends up winning.

(By the way, I wouldn’t mind seeing Marissa Miller out there either.  Here she was at the Cubs game this weekend

10. Mike Ditka – This is the angriest rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” ever.  (Sorry for the poor video quality, but you get the gist)

9. Ashlee Simpson getting booed at the Rose Bowl

8. William Hung – “Buy me penis and crackerjacks…”

7.  Eddie Vedder – This guy is so used to getting tuned up and having to sing in front of people that he would be a perfect drunk choice for the All-Star game:

6. This Cop – I actually don’t mind his version, he made some innovative changes in my opinion:

5. Carl Lewis – “I’ll make up for it now.” Well, Carl, you can’t make up for this.

4. Roseanne – She could use this opportunity to launch her new vehicle…oh wait, she hasn’t done anything since 2006, sort of like, but you can push that date back to 1983.

3. Jeff Gordon – Like Jeff, I have always enjoyed my time at Wrigley Stadium:

2. This Canadian woman – Listen to those Canucks cheer.  Keep this up and we will stop exporting our delicious fast food restaurants and semi-automatic handguns to gravy-on-fries wonderland.

1. Ozzie Osbourne – Was anyone,  besides members of the Cubs organization, surprised when he messed this up?

If they choose Ozzie Osbourne, I can almost guarantee he will attempt to learn another three percent of the song’s lyrics.
