In most cases, I never second guess Traveler’s Digest. I find their reviews of the utmost quality. However, in this case, I would like to do a little bit of fact checking. Stockholm probably does have the world’s most beautiful women, but lets take a look at some of these country’s best looking women, some of which are actually related to sports, and make a final declaration.
10. Amsterdam, Netherlands- Sylvie van der Vaart – Sylvie is a prominent Dutch model / actress and is the wife of Netherlands forward Rafeal van der Vaart.
9. Tel Aviv, Israel - It is tough to find an Israeli girl related to sports, but I did find a former Israeli solider that was feature in Maxim in the Girls of the Israeli Army spread. You can also enjoy her work in the Fast and the Furious 4 aside “stars” Vin Diesel and Paul Walker.
8. Montreal, Canada – Lateesha Ector, one of Quebec’s representatives for the Miss Universe Canada competition, will also represent Montreal in this competition. The fact that I had to dig as deep as I did to find an attractive Montrealian does not bode will for this city’s chances.
7. Caracas, Venezuela - Let’s go with Miss Amazones Dayana Mendova to represent Caracas. To tie it in sports in some way, let’s just assume she is dating Venezuelan baseball star Miguel Cabrera. Nice pull Miguel.
Moscow, Russia – Let’s finally take an athlete, actually two, and throw Maria Sharapova and Daniella Hantuchova in the mix to represent Russia.
5. Los Angeles, California – They didn’t make this song for no reason.
4. Varna, Bulgaria – Bulgaria might have been the last country that I expected hot women to come from. That being said, Paolina Racheva, Miss Bulgaria 2007 is a fine piece. I’m confused.
3. Buenos Aires – If you are confused as to whether women from Brazil are hot, just ask Marko Jaric..then punch Marko Jaric in the balls, because he doesn’t deserve Adriana Lima. This other chick is Ana Beatiz Barros, and god, and GHB willing, she will be my wife some day.
2. Copenhagen, Denmark – Take a look at Danish Supermodel May Andersen. Just look at her. Pretty hot huh? Well, she also likes to drink, and when she does, she doesn’t look nearly as good as she does below.
1. Stockholm, Sweden – I don’t think many people would disagree with this Stockholm’s selection as #1. Tiger’s wife, Henrik Zetterberg’s girlfriend and these Swedish soccer fans at Euro 2008 make a pretty good case for Sweden as the hottest country in the world and Stockholm, it’s capital, as the world’s hottest city.
The Official Decision: To begin with, this was a very tough decision. I very nearly picked Venezuela as my winner on the strength of Dayana Medova. Basically, it came down to Buenos Aires and Stockholm and until I found that picture of the hot soccer fans, I was set to pick Buenos Aires. But, I just can’t go against those Swedish Soccer beauties, or my current state of arousal.
